Glory?

I got a 10% glory bonus in my Egyptian campaign without joining or calling a Jihad {I ignored the only one called thus far - I moded the game to 6 months per turn and it's something like 1112 - as it was against a Buzantine city and I didn't want to lose trade for an isolated city} , without any big war {the Turks tried once but made it obvious there hearts weren't in it and it ended almost as soon as it began} and thus by only taking rebel settlements .

I think certain cities contribute to the bonus {Constantinople might be one ?} and Jerusalem is certainly one city that was {and is} very important to all three major faiths in the game .

Is this glory bonus linked to holding certain cities or to having special ancillaries for king/prince etc?

In my Egyptian campaign I took Jerusalem in around 6 turns, and noticed a 15% Glory bonus in all my cities. Its now turn 122, and I still have that bonus in all my cities and castles.

I believe if you capture one of your target cities/castles then you get this bonus for the rest of the game.

Discovering the New World gave me 30% Glory. I had not had any Glory before that.

I can simply say : WOW

after seeing vassalship actualy give you profit, this is another realy good news, and make the game deeper that i though!

on topic, i just made 2 winning crusades, and i discovered a conquered the NEW World, and i have 15% Glory bonus... My second crusade leader is still alive, while the first one died long time ago. 10 or so turns have passed since last crusade and 100+ since i discovered news world...
Now this are my dates, i hope we will be able to find how this works :)

Jerusalem or whatever target city your faction has will give a 15% Glory bonus. It was also there a lot longer than merely the crusade one.

Isnt there also Triumph after crusade?

I have also seen the glory icon apear in 3 cities but i havent managed to understand how it comes up.I play as the byzantines so no crusades or jihads
