Thread: Graphics Problems

    Default Graphics Problems

I keep having problems with the graphics in battles. Large usually triangular areas of grey or other colors will appear and blot out anything beneth them, Squares of many colors appear in the sky or on the ground, lines that streak across the battlefield to name a few. I have tried everything and they wont go away any suggestions?

    My computer specs:

    AMD Sempron Processor 3100+
    512 MB RAM
    Radeon 9800XT graphics card

If you need more than that just ask.
Using the power of the Griff cannon, we make a Griff sized hole in the outer wall. Or we paint it a very disgusting color. -Sarge

Well, wizards do tend to be a bunch of guys walking around wearing dresses. That's enough to frighten me right there.

You should definitely have more RAM. I am not familiar with your processor or its capabilities to run MTW2.

The processor is basically a cut-down 32-bit Athlon 64 at 1.8 GHz. I don't know if it's a Paris or a Palermo core, but it's a Socket 754. It's probably OK, but far from ideal.

I think the problem is that you're likely on the very bottom edge of MII:TW support. You have a GFX card that's 2.5 generations behind the current models (and uses AGP over the now-standard PCIe x16), and you are on DDR1 ram instead of DDR2.

You should replace the Motherboard, and get a PCIe graphics card (even a Geforce 6x00 series or Radeon x800, if you want to stay cheaper), as well as an Athlon clocked above 2.0 GHz (or if you want to shell out for a Core 2 Duo...). Your hard drive is fine if it's SATA I, but if it's PATA (also called ATA), you might want to grab a newer one.

I'm not sure if that is the problem..I got something very similar... try turning off "combined writing" - right click on desktop, click on properties, then under "advanced" on the settings tab you should see the check-box for it...try that, after I did this, no more wierd graphical glitches for me...
