    Default DoTA Anyone ?

    Hey there,

I'm sure most of you aware of this madness already (sorry if I missed a recent thread). But this can't keep me off introducing you to DotA (Defense of the Ancients) map/mod for Warcraft 3. Here is the homepage.

Briefly the map is designed so that there are two bases (Sentinel vs. Scourge) that are connected on 3 lanes to each other. There are 80 heroes to choose from, each are totally "hacked" from what they are originally in Warcraft 3, hence having very unique skills and spells. You are also able to shop for 98 items, some of which are combinations of lesser items giving you an incredible advantage according to their unique bonuses.

This is madness. The ultimate one. The variety of strategies and fun (as long as you don't bump into a lamer or don't act like one yourself) is endless. DotA has already been a WCG member game to be played in tournaments.

As there always are, there are lamers playing DotA as well such as quitters/leavers or maphackers. Quitting a game intentionally after it has started no matter what is not welcome and generally leads to being banned. You should not start a game you're likely to quit. Having this thumbrule, join the fun.

Get the original and latest version of DotA here. Version 6.38b is regarded the latest one and a stable one as well, so being popular. I'd recommend you to get it.

However, being a pro takes time as it does with every game. And if you are really new to the game, prefer joining games having "noobs only" etc. title and also practice offline with this AI map of DotA.

If you have time and feel dedicated to have fun (it really needs a bit of being serious to have fun with this), try this funpack now.

Oh well, here is the video of an artist called Basshunter, dedicated to DotA. And this is for streaming.

Shame on you LEN, I was about to use that as the subject of a pun.

Agreed. It is strange in terms of showing us how great can a mod be.. My problem with it is the lag.. It matters so damn much with such a game..
"Cry, the beloved country, for the unborn child that is the inheritor of our fear. Let him not love the earth too deeply. Let him not laugh too gladly when the water runs through his fingers, nor stand too silent when the setting sun makes red the veld with fire. Let him not be moved when the birds of his land are singing, nor give too much of his heart to a mountain or a valley. For fear will rob him of all if he gives too much."

    Basshunter like/likes computers eh?

But I have to say it's similar to Boten Anna.

I sometimes use Faceless Void. Backtrack is so amazing, dodge people's Ultimates.

Even the Bloodseeker's ulti ? I don't think so. I've heard that the only way to dodge Bloodseeker's ulti is having a Black King Bar (blocks most of the magic spells) or using a teleport scroll.

Hmmm, not sure. Never played against someone who uses that (probably because it can only be pitted against Faceless with All Pick). I know for a fact it can dodge most things.

I prefer Enfo's, but meh... this is good, too. Just that I deinstalled War3 due to diskspace shortage

Rythmic, do you hang around Eurobattle.net? I'd like to have a go together if you do. Let me know if so. (you too, Baba Ga'on, if ever decide to re-install it)

I only frequent the West America Battle.net (to avoid all the crazy Koreans in the Asia Battle.net). If I ever get enough time I don't see why not.

Troll Warlord all the way.. (Endless Bash with insane damage amounts anyone? ) Faceless Void might work, but the ability to be able to range/melee and have free speed boost, and huge AS speed increase just favours the Troll..

Hmm a tip for a Troll fan then: If you buy Cranium Basher when you are in the melee mode, you'll get the melee stun bonus all the way (%15 that is). Even though you convert to your ranged mode later on, the stun probability will not decrease to %10. Same applies vice versa.
