Thread: How to control the reinforcements?

Default How to control the reinforcements?

The manuals states you can control the reinforcements if you don't click on the option "let the AI control those troops". Well, I never ever click on this option but nevertheless I cannot even see the reinforcements in my troops roster and I cannot select them.
    So how to control them?

If you have a full stack of troops already on the field, the reinforcements wont start arriving until you lose a unit, since you can only have 16 units on the field at a time.

Handel is correct. You can also withdraw a unit to have it replaced. I do this routinely with archers who empty their quivers (Yeah, I abuse the passive AI bug...).

But I don't have a full stack of unit and the reinforcements appear together with me in the battlefield, but they are code colored blue and I cannot control them

If the reinforcements are lead by a captain instead of a general, the default setting is AI-controlled. In that case you have to uncheck the box next to the portrait of the "reinforcement-captain".

It might be 20, I'm not sure.

Yeah, if you don't have a full stack just make sure the AI control box is unchecked and it should work.

Can someone please show me how to bring in reinforcements? Manual says there's a button on the left hand side but I never see any buttons.

    Thanks

On the screen where you get to choose whether to fight it manually, autocalc, or withdraw, you should see checkboxes for reinforcement armies. Uncheck all the boxes if you want to control your reinforcements.

Reinforcements will arrive until you have 20 units on the field (that's the max). If you want another unit from the reinforcements, you need to withdraw one of the units currently in battle. This is best for missiles troops that ran out of ammo, for example.
