Couple of issue hit me....location wise not bad at all pretty good..(as in near to what the real thing looks like)..and yes I have been there and seen it..

But what bothers me is the complete lack of Norman crossbowmen..despite the fact that they most def did have both types of archers.

Also the unit composition is a little more diverse than the CA implementation...aka various mercenary forces, bretons etc where present..but I am being picky here.
When I was reading up on the battle this little bit of info struck me as well. When I was writing it up I thought I might break up the "purely AAR" and insert some little roleplaying tidbits like the Breton's control of the Norman left flank, or 'pretend' that the archers in-game were a mix of both crossbowmen and archers. In restrospect, I might have covered the vast multi-cultrual nature of Williams army (Italians, Flemish, Franks, etc.) by adding a few lines here and there about the different men making up the Norman army.
But in the end up I decided it would be safer for me to report the battle in a more puritanical AAR than attempt to stick with defining histroical accuracy - as I am no authority on the battle and would be inclined to make a huge glaring mistake here and there in the pursuit of historical accuracy. I wimped out, in other words
But yes, good points raised. If I write up some other historical battles I might include some "liberties" when describing what units I'm given in the battle.
