The unit that is causing a CTD currently is the Baktrian faction's Baktrioi Hippeis. Try to avoid it till we get the first patch out. I reported this problem earlier and we thought we fixed it but it's still causing this problem.

As for those loading problems, that's bizarre. How could an EB install, that only makes changes in one place (your copy of RTW that you put it on - one set of files really) affect other copies outside of that set of files? We've never had a member or beta tester report a problem remotely like this. Anyone had ideas on it yet?
What video cards do you guys who are having the problem have? Maybe we can figure out at least something that ties those problems together.

I managed to remove the issue on v1.0 by editing the preference file.
I made first time play false into true, and 32 bit colours on the strategymap false --> true
and, AA_QUALITY:AA_HIGH
i was just poking around.
however, on v1.5, this no longer does the trick.
in v1.5 it works when you do it to the preference file in the map preference. i again edited the three options.
AA quality, first time play, and 32bit
it works, installing EB now.
It could be an incompatible preferences file - do we copy one over from the install? It may be that there's a default video setting which looks goofy on PCs with different video cards.Originally Posted by Teleklos Archelaou
Do you know if we have any beta testers with RTW Gold who can try to replicate this?
Ok, after a long trial´n´error game EB is running fine now.
This is what i did:
1. Deleted all preferences data folders in my RTW copy (and bi)
2. made sure that both desktop and game resolution is 1024*768*32
3. Antialiasing on low setting
Hope this helps!

Unfortunately the problem continues and its even worse....I uninstalled everything that had to do with Rome and Europe Barbarorum and then I reinstalled Rome..The gold version that I own...So I run it to see if it plays normally...And Lo,No!!The problem I had after installing EB pops up in ROme too even without having reinstalled EB...I dont know what happened but I assure u Rome played normally before I first install EB...No I am thinking of installing the first edition of Rome from a friend and then patch it to 1.5 to see what will happen.

Hm, maybe i forgot to mention that i updated my gfx drivers before i installed Rome and EB.
Try this:
Download the newest version of your Video drivers
Uninstall Rome and your Video drivers.
Install new V. d.
Install Rome 1.5
Install EB
Start vanilla Rome and make your changes to the video settings, exit.
Start EB and make exactly the same changes to the v. s.
The game resolution should be the same as the desktop r.
and make sure that Antialiasing is enabled in the driver settings.
At least this is what i did and EB is running fine now and i had the same probs as you.
Good luck, i hope you can make it work !
