Ok, I don't know exactly how to explain it, but the only two CTD's I've had with the new build (techincally my build is update5a, members will know what that means, but it's basically 0.80) occurred in battle when the enemy leader died.
No one else has reported this issue yet. I'll try to restate my recent one, and remember my one from a couple of days ago:
1. I was Makedonia playing against Pontos. I sieged their town at Nikaia, and the battle was a long and good one. I had their remnants at the town square, when I rushed in with a charge on some units and I quickly saw the 'letterbox' show the Pontic general or captain (general I think, but unsure, could be captain) fall to the ground. Before it even made it out of the letterbox format, where it zooms in on the general, it CTD'd.
2. I was KH playing against Makedonia. I was attacked by two armies south of Korinth, and it was a long battle. I had Areus and Akrotatos, and both were down to just 4 and 1 men respectively. Akrotatos was engaged with 2 hetairoi - one being the captain (not general) and Areus charged in. Right at that moment, it CTD'd. Other units were on the field too, but this happened on the edge of battle, and I could clearly see it, being zoomed in. I am not sure if (1) they killed the enemy captain with Areus' charge or (2) the one other hetairoi had just killed either Areus in the charge or Akrotatos, whom he was fighting with.
So, what happened? Other reports might make our job easier in figuring it out. What I might guess:
-something to do with death animations for captains, possibly generals
-the possibilty that the battle just ended at that moment by virtue of the enemy then routing when captain/general died, but I've never heard of immediate CTD's upon success like that.
-the possibility that a graphic or text notifying me of the enemy captain/general's death is messed up or causing the problem. But this was two different factions that it happened to.
Any ideas here? This happen to anyone else?
