problems running eb

im having trouble running eb (ive downloaded RTW v.1.5) and installed eb but when i go into rtw its the same as before i loaded the mod

Try starting the game using the "EB" desktop icon.

Also, make sure you installed EB to your RTW directory. It sounds obvious but the installer doesn't auto-detect your RTW directory.

eb is installed in the rtw directory and ive tried using the desktop icon but nothing has changed

Right click on the desktop shortcut and go to properties. Make sure it says

...RomeTW.exe" -mod:eb -nm -show_err

If it says "-mod:eb" and loads vanilla then the "EB" folder is probably in the wrong place. (It should be in the ...\Rome - Total War)

the properties of the eb icon are correct and eb is in the rtw folder

What version of RTW do you have on the discs? IE, is it 1.0, is it the Gold version, etc?

i have version 1.0 of rtw but have upgraded to 1.5

Try these steps.

Probably you didn't upgraded to 1.3 first.
The 1.5 patch by itself isn't enough.

I am having a problem as well. I click on the icon and it says "windows is searching for RomeTW.exe" and EB does not open.

In properties it has the target as C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\RomeTW.exe" -mod:eb -nm -show_err

Basically I cannot start EB. Any assistace would be appreciated.

In which directory you have EB installed?

I had to copy EB from that directory and change the taget to "C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War" because thats were my RTW is. Maybe location is different for certain versions, mine is UK gold edition.

The information I recieve in properties:

Target: "C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\RomeTW.exe" -mod:eb -nm -show_err

Start in: "C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\"

I added The Creative Assembly to where activision was located and the standard RTW opened.
