    Default Performance of 0.8?

I tried the first betas of EB but stopped playing because of the long loading times and bad framerate in battles. I'm at work right now so I can't test for myself but have these problems been adressed in this new version? Or rather, how's the performance compared to RTR?

As far as I'm aware, they have not been. However, you probably need to test the game yourself, as they've had some reports of it being extremely slow. On my computer, the thing boots up faster than any adobe product. I run a rig similar to khelvans in this thread.

I believe this little mod has been incorporated into the game, however it may be worth trying. I do not know its compatibility with .8.

Mine works all fine and smooth (so long as I don't try something stupid, like top-level details plus anti-aliasing etc. on huge units - which is Lag City also with vanilla on my comp). There's probably some sort of memory leak issue inherent in RTW though, as playing long enough seems to result in gradual increase in loading times up to and including lag even on the cursor - although that takes something like six hours of straight playing.

And my machine's not even particularly hot by today's standards.

I and many others around the world are of the strong belief that the universe was created by a Flying Spaghetti Monster. --- Proof of the existence of the FSM, if needed, can be found in the recent uptick of global warming, earthquakes, hurricanes, and other natural disasters. Apparently His Pastaness is to be worshipped in full pirate regalia. The decline in worldwide pirate population over the past 200 years directly corresponds with the increase in global temperature. Here is a graph to illustrate the point."

Well no wonder, whit Khelvans Equipment (or similar to it)
A Friend has a similar thing and he runs MTW2 on high graphic, in the backround, downloads torents, runs ICQ and hears music from winamp

I have a slower, damiged PC. (Should get a new one thil the end of this winter. )
So i wait a while for plazing, and the campain map and actions lag a bit.

My loading times are fine, but I get terrible lag/framerate on the strategic map in areas with lots of trees (Germany and Gaul mostly).
