    Question Problem starting a Campaign

I didn´t find a thread related to my problem so I had to make a new one:
It´s my first time actually writing at this forum but I´ve been around here and reading for a couple of months. First I want to say that I´m a big fan of EB and I´m amazed at the entirely new feeling it offers (especially noticed this after playing Vanilla once again a couple of days ago: comiclike! )
But now my problem: I had a fresh install of v1.0 and after this I installed BI
so Rome-TW was upgraded to 1.5 and EBv0.8. Everything correct I guess.
When I started EB it seemed to work but then every time I started a campaign or custom battle it went back to desktop.
I thougt that maybe EB needed Rome:TW Gold and didn´t work on v1.5 provided by BI and followed Cheexsta´s explanation how to run it with TW-BI.exe but the same here!
Now I would like to know if any one else has encountered this problem or if I have forgotten something important. I don´t think the reason is the pc btw,
it´s the new one my sister got this week
Thankyou in advance and sorry if you consider this my personal problem that shouldn´t be posted at this forum

I`m having exactly the same problem

Fresh install of RTW 1.5 (totally unmoded, even without BI).Tried twice.
Still, i am unable to play a campaign game in Europa Barbarorum. It loads for a certain time, then instant CTD with no error. Even the Windows error message is absent, something wich is really really strange.

Howewer , i was able to play a number of custom battles, and i can say the mod is awesome, too bad that i cannot play a campaign.

I deleted the map.rwm from the RTW vannila, and also the map.rwm from the EB folder, after considering the posibility that the game is unable to use the ones already existing, and needs to generate new ones. But for no use - the campaign will CTD when loading !

I must confess this is the first time i`m having this kind of troubles with a mod.

After getting EB to run last night I am having this problem also. I tried as Casse and it CTD'd twice and then I tried as Epeiros and it just hung and eventually froze my computer. I am wondering if EB is unknowingly asking for more RAM than that is available. Do you two also have 512MB or less?

No, it´s 1024MB for me so that shouldn´t be a problem.
But I´m also unsure about our problem being the same because for me, it has never been working at all and it always crashed before you could even see the
    loading screen.

Same boat as you CrazyHorst - see my thread "Crashing" in this forum. Really frustrating since I'm ignorant about these things and can't seem to get it to work, lol.

This isnt about "making things to work"...
It is probably a minor glithc, and we will have to have pacience until one of the modmakers will take a look upon this topic and answer us.

It has nothing to do with videocard as such, as i have played 8 custom battles one after another without having any kind of problem, even more, there seemed to have been no memory leak or so.

The problem is related exclusively to the campaign game. It is not the typicall error, it is not something related to the computer sistem, but something related to the game.

I have experimented for hours using any kind of tehniques with the map.rwm and the preferences. For no use ! The campaing game won`t work, even if i continue to install and re-install the game forever...

There is something wrong in there.

Until then, i will have some fun on the custom battles

Nope. BI is RTW 1.6. This will cause a CTD.

EB 0.8 needs to be installed on a clean RTW 1.0 + patch 1.3 + patch 1.5. Do not go the way of installing BI and trying to make it work. It neads a clean install.

Oh...and I thought after reading the instructions some hundred times I´d have
    understood everything...stupid me
Thankyou for making me realize my glaring mistake.
Is there any possibility to get v1.5 without buying RomeTW Gold?
    I didn´t see a link anywhere like for v1.2...

Sorry if my English isn´t that clear: I wanted to say that there wasn´t a link for v1.5 on the EB webside.
I compared this to the time before the release of 0.8. By then there was a link for v1.2. I did not intend to say that I need a link for 1.2 now.

Ah! I now understand what you meant.

Well, we don't make those patches, CA does. It's logical that people know were to get them. But I'll tell our webmaster to make a new link for both 1.3 and 1.5.
