I am alone (A campaign story with Sovietunion re-(???)created)
Hi there!
I am in a really awkward campaign right now I would like to share with you. I am with Portugal, began the game with rotting out the spanish and the moors in Iberia, requested a crusade on Tolouse and took it. Tolouse was my only concern for about a 75-100 turns, the French, Sicily and Milan attacked it every 3-4 turns. But only that.
I was in alliance with England, Venice, Denmark, Papal States. Built up economy, then conquered North-Italy, and South-Italy, the middle is Papal States. HRE was annihillated, the Turks and Egypt by the Mongols, French got annihillated by the English, Scotland took GB. Then Hungary got killed, then Poland then Denmark. What is going on? I thought the Mongols were invading Europe? Done some map trading and the situation was: Mongols were at Constantinaple, Danes and Sicily have conquered eastern Europe (Budapest, Bran, Zagreb etc).
But what's up with Russia? Sent a diplomat bought the maps for 20000 bucks (yikes). Russia has conquered all of Russia, and North Europe, they were already at Stettin in war with Sicily, Denmark, England, Milan. (?) (this was in year 1410 I think) Next turn Venice is annihillated. Cool. Next turn Milan is killed. (how ?) I traded maps with Engalnd, cool they have still 14 territories.
2 turns later I get a faction destroyed message. I thought it was the Moors. Nope. It was England. 2 turns. 14 territories. Map trading showed me, that 9 of them were conquered by Russia, the other five were rebelling because of the russian priests. (My two really-really strong and experienced armies (almost all of the units with maxed out experience - those guys have seen some battles) are in the New World)
So next turn: russian priests come into Bordeaux, Tolouse, Venice, Milan, Marseille, but not only priests. No. 75-100% full stack armies invade this territories in one turn. Oh..
Almost everyone is destroyed, the remaining are: Portugal (me - Iberia, Western-North Africa, all of the islands in the mediteranean, the New world, North- and South-Italy; southern France); Mongols (Eastern-North Africa, Middle-east, Asia Minor, Byzantium, southern East-Europe), Sicily (Switzerland, South-Germany, Budapest, Zagreb) Scotland (GB) and finally Russia with everything else...Stalin is nothing compared to this. Really. But finally I will have some really-really exciting battles.
By the way I am using Lands to Conquer 1.1 mod. I think I would recommend it after this...this is just cool. I haven't had a such exciting game for...a long time.
