A woman outraged by her husband’s unwillingness to make love to her wrapped up his penis with scotch tape and tried to force him into sexual intercourse. Her plan failed the woman wrapped her husband’s hands, legs and head with the tape and went to bed. The man died from suffocating, the website Pravda.Ru reported Thursday.

The incident occurred in Bashkortostan, Central Russia, in the village of Sidyakbash.

Investigators report that the 28-year-old had been partying with her friends that day and upon coming home she threw a tantrum in front of her husband and son. The latter told the police afterwards that his mother had come home late, she had been clearly drinking and tried to force his daddy to sleep with her.

But the man flatly rejected her advances. Outraged, the woman began to beat him savagely forcing him to take off all his clothes. The 10-year-old tried to protect his father but the woman hit the kid so hard that he passed out, MediaKorSet reports.

Having dealt with the boy the woman reportedly wrapped up her husband penis with scotch and tried to have sex with him but failed. The woman then wrapped up her husband entirely with adhesive tape, sealed up his mouth and nose and then went to bed.

During questioning the woman explained that the husband had shouted insults at her and she simply wanted him to shut up.

The man’s dead body was discovered by his mother-in-law who arrived in the morning to look after the children. The man was stark naked and dead, his limbs all wrapped up in scotch.

The man’s wife denied her role in the killing. She could not figure out at first what had happened. She claimed that her husband was not dead; he was only pretending to be dead, she isnsisted.

Forensic experts said the man had died by suffocation. Investigation into manslaughter is underway. If convicted, the woman may face up to 24 months behind bars.

Friends and neighbors said the man was a good worker and did not drink, unlike his wife who used to hit the bottle regularly, was unfaithful to her husband and constantly battered him and their kids. Her mother has several times asked the government bodies to strip her of parental rights.

How can this be a mitigating sentencing factor? If that was the case, you could just get seriously liquored up every time you wanted to kill someone, and get a lighter sentence.

Well pretty obviously on the logic that someone not in the full possession of their faculties cannot be held entirely responsible for his or her actions when in such a state. Kinda like mental disorders.
Premediated murder - Murder One - is of course another thing, but I don't think it is very common for people to be even able to carry out one when drunk and/or stoned. The ability to make plans and stick to those tends to get pretty addled.

I don't know how legislations actually tend to regard the issue of inebriation in the context though, but the article mentions the authorities were terming it "manslaughter" so they presumably had no reason the believe this was an intentional killing rather than sheer bloody drunken stupidity with tragic results. It's not like she was ever mentioned to have attacked her hubby with an intent to kill, was she now ?

If it was the kind used to secure cardboard boxes for shipping that stuff is almost as strong as duct tape. We use a scotch brand tape to secure flaps of cardboard boxes that hold 50+ pounds of product.

Amazing stuff tape, the width and thickness I beleive has an impact on its holding strength. But the material makes it easier to cut and tear because it lacks fibers.

Wow Watchman! I am used to you holding exact opposite views to mine, but even I was suprised by THIS!

A murder is a murder. Killing someone in cold-blood is murder. Let me ask you a question. Would you have the same opinion on the case if it was a man doing it to a woman?
I think this is more of your PC crap. Let's take sex out of the equation for a second, as you have to make any type of fair non-sexist desicion. If person A (who could be man or woman) liquored up, and while driving home got an urge like he/she had never had before to slit the throat of, drink the blood of, and rape person B, before throwing them in the river. Person A pleads under the influence. Do you think he/she should get a lighter sentence?
