Whatever happened to the trait for the guy who captured Syracruse? Is there something specific for it that needs met? I was counting on it to turn this guy into a decent general.

The only traits awarded for conquering Syrakousai are given to Hellenes and Carthage. None of them provide any bonuses whatsoever. What faction are you playing? Are you sure there used to be a trait for conquering Syrakousai that gave you bonuses?
I am reasonably sure the trait went to ANYONE who conquered the city. I always thought this was rather neat, and hoped it would be applied for a number of major cities in the game. About it giving bonuses, I thought it gave a +1 to command, though I'm less sure about that being in there. If not, I think it should, as the capture of Syrakousai was from my understanding a major achievement. I'm playing as Rome. Is Eperios a more fitting city for Syrakousai to defect to than the KH? I think in .74 that's who it went to. Which made sense to me, since KH is a allied city-state federation, while Eperios is just the one that established it, and would have probably cut off ties to it by then.Originally Posted by BozosLiveHere
Will we be seeing more This year in history, traits as well?
I've taken Syrakousai a few times in several different Qarthie campaigns in .74. At least the trait they get for it had no direct game effects, it was just neat. Ditto for taking Rome, IIRC.
The one the Gauls got for taking Rome gave +1 Influence, but that's about it.
"Let us remember that there are multiple theories of Intelligent Design. I and many others around the world are of the strong belief that the universe was created by a Flying Spaghetti Monster. --- Proof of the existence of the FSM, if needed, can be found in the recent uptick of global warming, earthquakes, hurricanes, and other natural disasters. Apparently His Pastaness is to be worshipped in full pirate regalia. The decline in worldwide pirate population over the past 200 years directly corresponds with the increase in global temperature. Here is a graph to illustrate the point."

We avoid giving bonuses to command whenever possible. Just taking a famous city is definitely not reason enough.Originally Posted by Gazius
I think there is a plan for something in that vein.Originally Posted by Gazius
