    Default EDB v.802 (CTD Fix)

    Compatible with v0.80 only
Ok, I have seen a bunch of bugs that people are still having problems with that involve the EDB. I made an updated version more than a week ago but didn't upload it thinking that .81 would be out soon. Well, I finally decided to post this fix.

    This includes:
    AI turn CTD fix
    Roman dockupgrades
    Great Forum fix
    Hippodrome fix
{ egypt, } vs { egyptian, } bugs (carthage bugs)
-includes government, sanitation, and temple of tanit fixes
    Roman elephant recruitement fix
    Gallic road fix
    Removal of Baktrian Hippies
    I think there was more...

    Link: http://files.filefront.com//;6642832;;/
Place this file in the ...EB\Data\ folder. You may wish to backup your old EDB.

PS I was going to try and make a fix for Roman recruitment, but the EB AOR system is insanely complicated.

PPS Even though it doesn't matter, I want to state that I made this before I saw the internal EB.81, so it isn't just copied from those files.

no worries Marcus. Just make sure we aren't leaving anything big out of 0.81 that you've got taken care of here. Let's hope update6 is the last one we will need.

The first thing I did when I started was make sure all the stuff I knew of was fixed. I then went through the known bugs thread and checked out most of them. Everything I checked was fixed, often in a better fashion than my fixes. And I have yet to have the same AI turn CTD on the internal version!

If you are referring to the unit's english translation hanging down to the next line, no. That is a different file and I was trying to keep this to only the EDB file (I tried to fix the port bug, for example, but couldn't do it with only this one file). But Oleo, made a fix for that here: Small text fixes for units

That's strange, I didn't know Baktria had hippies. Do they do rock concerts? XD

Kidding. On a more serious note, when you say 'removal', do you mean they will not longer be recruitable (a blow to my girlfriend's Baktria campaign which is counting on using the Baktrioi as the main cavalry) or do you just mean the -problem- of the sprites and .tga is removed, but the Baktrioi can still be built and used in battle mode?

They are no longer recruitable. Any that are still on the map will still cause the CTD. The Baktrians have a tracian looking cavalry with nearly the same stats, so it shouldn't really hurt them.

And yes the hippy movement started in Baktra, c280BC. Canabis is native to the Hindu-Kush, after all.

Downloaded it and it worked a treat. The Roman empire can march on once again.

The CTD seems to be dead (again) using the hotfix for 0.81. It'll be a bit of a wait before it's out though.

Does that hotfix allow for units without government or barracks?

It allows the rebels, and native faction owner, a basic unit trained from the governor's palace. It is unfortunate, but seems necessary to avoid the CTD. We've regionalized these palace units so you won't see Casse Pantodapoi or Baktrian Poeni militia, and no other faction but the native one will be able to recruit through it.

So it's essentially the same thing as my fix?
I was hoping there was a way around it, even if it is just rebels and founders who have the one unit.

Yes, your fix was the base of this. We thought we had avoided it previously, but as the bug reports came in that theory was shot down. If we find another way to avoid rebellion CTDs, we'd love to scrap this fix.
