RTW struggling where Barbarian Invasion is fine

I wonder if anyone can enlighten me....I have recently made the step from MTW to RTW. I purchased a DVD with both games on and made sure my PC was more than comfortable with their requirements. I started playing RTW and it seems as though the mouse speed struggles to keep up with the on screen action - most disconcerting when you want an urgent pause as you are about to receive a charge and you cant get to the pause button fast enough!!! - The bizzare thing is that when I played Barbarian Invasion the controls are perfectly sharp and crisp and a joy to use. Any ideas what could be casing the problem??

Not sure about the solution but you can just try pressing the "P" button to pause...

Hitting "P" is fine but the problem is a bit deeper than that. On the campaign map - for example - if scrolling accross then it seems as though the pointer or mouse movements are slower than they should be. As I said earlier, on BI it is fine which leads me to assume it can't be a shortage of graphics.

Have you tried updating Windows Media Player? Seems odd but I had a similar problem and it worked for me.

Aye that was indeed the remedy to the problem for me as well. Little bit annoying on a 56k modem but it did the trick for some reason.

No I haven't....but it'll vbe the first thing I do when I get home tonight. Still seems strange that BI sould be fine though. As for modems, I was playing a single player game and not on line. Thanks again for your help
