Portugese Units

I recently started a campaign as Portugal. I've already taken the Iberian peninsula, but frankly I'm bored. Jinettes are great, but the Portugese units in general seems incredibly bland and uninteresting. I was expecting a setup similar to Spain, but that seems not to be the case at all. Given that I cannot yet see what they get after the discovery of gunpowder, can anyone tell me if they get anything special at that time?

They get musketeers and Portugese arquebusiers.

look at your building browser and right click on the units.... you'll see what they have in store

Or u can start a custom battle,pick the portuguese and have a look at their roster

Yes, that's what I would do. We discussed a screenshot of the Portugese roster before the game was released; you can see it (and our speculation about unit names) here:

I have not checked to see how prescient we were, but it looks like we did ok.
