Default I have never been so humiliated!

I had a crusade to Gaza. I was sieging Gaza when the Egypts attacke me. I had superior force and the victory was clear.

Then I managed to shoot my crusader king with an own catapult!!!

Well I still won the fight but lost the king and he's soon to come retinue friends in the prosess. Needless to say that I was rather pissed to my self.

Had a similar thing happen when the cataplutes where being controlled by a allied army (my own faction) and my general was chasing down fleeing enemy troops...

My basilisk took my general's head off first shot. Last time I ever brought cannons to the battlefield. This is why I always put 2 generals in a stack...

Well they do say friendly fire isn't

Did something like that too, although it wasn't a general... But these days, I do not put spearmen in schiltron right in front of my flameball spewing catapults. That wasn't pretty.
Anything wrong ? Blame it on me. I'm the French.

I'd suggest getting your taxmen and secret service guys to investigate that cat crew.

You would think that the catapults get more and more accurate as the crew find the range, but instead they have an equal chance to miss every shot. One catapult hurling flaming shot managed to shoot the spearmen unit directly in front of it... I wonder if they can hit themselves?

We're probably not too far off from the day when either a TW game, or one much like it, comes with options to "turn" enemy units by bribe or subversion and it wont be known until the fighting starts.

Imagine the fun you can have if the AI can bribe your archers or artillery to turn on your own forces once the battle is joined?

Gives whole new meaning to the phrase "BOOM!!! HEADSHOT!!!" huh?

You know I honestly think this is a Right of Passage for all TW players since MTW. You haven't truly played until you've made soup out of your own troops and killed at least one of your generals using your own arty!

Someone in another thread once talked about dropping a rock on the Pope-o-matic's head in MTW, that had me big time.

My favorite screw up was the time I sallied to break a siege, and thought to have my 'never before used' elephants trample the enemy archers while my men formed outside the wall. To my dismay, the elephants quickly routed, and came trampling back through the gate where all of my men were trying to exit. Lots of scipii infantry pulp at that gate I can tell you.

I also love it when I send my general (or king) to go mop up routed units (at 3x speed), only to have them rally, and kill the general. I know its a risk, but I cant refrain from trying to capture extra men.

This is from the original MTW, so maybe not the best place, but I really want to share this.

I was playing an Italian campaign with Glorious Achievements. I had a mediterrainian empire and some holdings in central europe. Hungary back stabbed me when my armies were away fighting elsewhere. I quickly pulled my armies back and defeated the Hungarians in a battle, killing their two heirs.

Next turn, I invaded the province where their king was with an army of Chivalric Knights, Italian Infantry, Arquebusiers and 3 serpentines. I easily won the battle as they had some spearmen and feudal sargeants. Having killed all of the King's bodyguard and routed the king himself, I had no troops light enough to catch him, so I made peace with the fact that I would probably have to kill him another day. I then remembered about my Serpentines, who still had half their ammunition remaining. I ordered them to fire on the fleeing King, and just as he got out of range, my battery fired one last time and most missed. One cannon's aim was true and a cannon ball hit the Hungarian kingsquare on the back on the full!

With the King's death and no heirs, Hungary dissintegrated into rebels and I was able to pick them off without provoking the Pope any further.
