Does anyone know where I can find this "BIg Map" mod? I've been hearing about it, and I know I've seen it before, but I can't find it now. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, is really a big Campaign map! The size is double of the original map size and now you can play Medieval 2: Total War in a larger map!
Optionally, you can add more new provinces in it!
Now, I have 199 added Provinces in Big Map. The game is now REALISTIC!
Macedon or Macedonia (from Greek Μακεδονία) was the name of the ancient Greek kingdom in the northern-most part of ancient Greece. For a brief period it became the most powerful state in the ancient Near East after Alexander the Great conquered most of the known world, inaugurating the Hellenistic period of Greek history...
Did you say that you added 199 to the map? I was wondering how many it would support. So far I have added 45 (total 157).

Can you guys upload the files you used to add those provinces/cities?
ER posted the data files on 12/5, but I can't seem to find them. I would upload them for you, but I'm not all that sure how. When the patch comes out tomorrow, you'll be able to get all of the files that you need.

I installed the Large Map mod and it loaded the game by itself. But after cancelling I can't load up the mod again. I just get the standard game.
Can anyone tell me how to load the mod again please.![]()
In the main Medieval II foler, there should be an icon that says Launch Big Map. That is where you should start the game from.

Excellent, got it. I never thought of hitting the DOS type file.
Thanks very much for that!![]()
Hm, I forgot to ask: How do you add provinces and cities in the first place? Is there a tutorial?
what is BigMap mod?
precisely, not generally, i realise that it probably has a bigger map, but the totwarwarmods link has no info about the purpose of the mod, or any screenshots.
Question, where is the link to the big map mod with 199 provs (or is it 145 currently?) and does this work with LTC 1.2?
There isnt any with 199
there is work on adding more provinces and should be available soon
this thread has a link and the discussion on the big map mod

If I'm not mistaken the original Mundus Magnus had India and central Asia too. BigMap is just the Vanilla one with doubled dimension...
Why is there a "bridge" to Britain from France?
Fun with the HUGE map but only drawback is it takes 1.5-2.0 minutes per turn now.
There are to many factions with to many countries doings "things" so you have to wait alot longer.
Other than that.....it's a great mod !!!
Huge drawback now.........
I am into the 60-70+ turn now and the wait time between turns is nearing 6 minutes.
Is there anyway this change be changed?? I am getting frustrated waiting 6 minutes between turns.
I would guess that you are running this on a low-end machine. There is an option to turn off the between turn watching.

I have a top of the line PC.
The first 10 or so turns went perfect then the farther along in the campaign I got......the longer bewteen turns.
I did install Ultimate AI.....that might have alot to do with it.
