    Default Mercenary elephants?

    I know that the only faction that has elephants in its unit roster are the timurides.
    Are there any mercenary elephants that can be recruted?
    Maybe in mosul or bagdad?

    Definitely in either of those provinces, although I don't think they appear until the High Era.

    There are on Era's in the SP game...

    They must be available in that direction because I have been attacked by the Egyptians using Artillery Elephants, which is not in their army list...

    I got Elephants and Elephant Artillery in Baghdad, sometime around 1280 or something. Just be aware that they take forever to refresh on the merc menu. It's been 30 turns or more since I got them and I still can't field any more.
