    I noticed that the music was probably the single least-talked about new feature of .8, which sorta confused my because I think that it is probably the single biggest step forward! The them song (main menu theme) is absolutely fantastic! The horns and drums are perfect and all the factions' music is spot-on! The Romans have strong, Imperial, marching themes, the Greeks lighter ones that make me think of lost or diminishing glory, and the Barbarians a vibrant and deep tone that touches me to the core. I haven't heard all the music but look forward to and I'd like to say a big thanks to the musicians behind its conception! What makes .8 less of a game and more of an immersive, interactive encyclopedia of ancient history is the incredible music that pulls you in and works with the units, GUI's and voicemods to make me feel like I'm there. Way to go, and thanks a lot for some absolutely fantastic music!!!


    PS- is this a spam topic? I thought it might be but then I'd hate the feeling of our beloved musicians going relatively unthanked for all their great work

    When we previewed them, we received a good deal of responses, but we kept telling people that they still had to hear them in the game to get the full experience. I absolutely love them. Not only do we have terrific themes for each culture group, and battle themes, and mobilization themes, but the EB theme itself is the new big one folks hadn't heard yet - and Nick also did victory and defeat themes that work across cultures. Plus a short repeating one for load screens. They all work together extremely well we think. The only real complaint I've heard besides some personal preference is that long campaigns will get the songs repeated many times - but remember that we have approximately 27 totally new pieces here. Asking for many more on top of that is just too much. Especially asking for new ones that are totally different compositions.

    I'm sure Nick and Morgan will be thrilled to see a thread on their music in the new release - certainly it's not spam! Knock yourselves out!

    I wasn't all that keen on the Barbarian theme, but after playing as the Casse for a few days I've acctually grown quite fond of it. Bravo to Nick and Morgan.

    Hi all,

    On behalf of both composers, we want to thank all of you for the wonderful feedback regarding the music for EB's new release! We had a fun time working on the pieces and it's great to see how things turned out.

    The music truly is wonderful, the theme as I tried out the sweboz was particulary impressive. Is the added material all on the main webpage? I'd love to have it for personal listening all the time.

    Though unfortunately I didn't have time to delve much further the main theme is nothing short of stunning. Well done!

    I really like the music too, it fits so nicely and contributes greatly to the fantastic atmosphere of the game. Very good job, Morgan and Nick!

    Teleklos, just a small note, you mentioned the defeat theme and according to descr_sounds_music.txt that track should be data/sounds/music/EB_Defeat.mp3, but EB 0.8 doesn't seem to contain that file. Not that I'm missing it since my campaign is going really well, but I'd like to hear it someday :)

    I loved the music for EB 0.8, especially the Romani pieces! It's just one more thing that makes EB feel like a whole different, finished TW game!
