    Default Triumphus

    Yes, another topic about that.

First off, I fought a huge war with carthage and my commander barely got the Africanus title. It seems too hard to get a triumph, the real Scipio got his title from winning a battle he couldn't lose.

Second: I got a minor triumph for defeating some rebels who outnumbered me. Nice touch!

Finally. I had one of my generals get the trait "Imperator" for fighting his third battle ever, against rebels. Is this a bug or did he make it to step three to the triumph in a single bound?

Imperator is not the third step of the Triumphator trait. You get it by winning difficult battles.

The Triumph system is buggy. Scipio got the trait "conquerer of Carthago" and got the name "Africanus" which replaced Scipio. His son came of age the next turn, and his name also changed to Africanus and he also had the Conquerer of Carthago trait. Is the Africanus name meant to run in the family line?

Yes, it is a hereditary honorific.

For the next update, the children won't get the conqueror trait, just the cognomen.

So if I took the guy with "Imperator" and got "Conquerer of Something" I could go get a triumph? In that, you need "Conquerer..." and "Imperator" but not in that order?

Yeah, how you get named Imperator is not really relevant. But you need to be recognized as such in order to claim a Triumph.

Cool! I always thought it was like "Imperator against Carthage" or that "Imperator" required that you already be some conquering hero.
