    Default Auto Calc cheat

I've been sieging an Aedui city, and so I attacked the settlement with my army. I won with 5% casualties. However, the game crashed when loading back to the campaing screen. So, I tried the battle again, same result, game crashes. I then tried it using the Auto Calc, but I took much heavier casualties, and one of the enemy reinforcement Generals escaped. So, I think I will need to use an Auto Calc cheat to get a fair result from this battle. Does anyone know how to do this?

I also heard discussion about removing cheats such as these in future versions of EB, but I think this is a good example of why they are required.

    Thanks for any help.

hit the ~ key, then enter auto_win attacker since your the attacker, otherwise replace attacker with defender

its worth keeping in mind though that while the cheat does mean you will win the battle, you still get the same casualties you would normally get from an auto_calc. i suppose that if you find it to be unfair you could compensate yourself for the cost of replacing the troops you otherwise would not have lost by cheating to give yourself some money.

Are there reinforcements? What city was it? How many generals are there? It might be possible for us to understand the ctd better - maybe not - but it's worth noting the circumstances.

Attack the town with just one unit and do the auto_win thing. So the rest of your stack remains intact and you dont have to "compensate" yourself

I tried Auto Calc once, but I lost too many units. Now I can't do it again, even though I reloaded the game.

As for the CTD, I was attacking with one army, no reinforcements. They had one reinforcement army from outside the settlement.

I've tried various things, such as delaying the siege etc, but I keep losing the battles now, I won before with 5% casualties before the CTD's. These CTD's, and other random crashes during battles, are really ruining EB for me, its a shame because its such as incredible mod.

Is there any cheat simply to remove the Aediu army?

Also, could I use a mod switcher programme to still keep EB and my savegames on it, while still having a version of the original RTW?

Why would you need to do that? EB 0.8 uses a -mod switch, so all EB files are in the EB\ directory, and do not overwrite RTW.

Ever tried starting up regular RTW?
