Awesome ! Do you mind posting step by step how to do it ?
Do you add these as mercs to English provinces ?

Yeah, that sounds cool. How generalizable is it? I'd like to port some other units around as well.
It's a very horribly complicated process, to be honest.

Or are there some threads where it's explained here, at TWC, .com whatever ? I always wanted some Tuaregs and Camel Gunners in my Armies in the Maghreb.

I added them to the normal recruiting window for Citadels. Only way I knew how to add them.....![]()
The big drawback is Milan no longer has xBows since I didn't want to go even further into the process and actually add a completely separate unit in England. I think I know how to but I want to enjoy this "victory" for now !!!
This was a very difficult, tedious, and frustrating process. Alot of hair pulling and getting very angry. After 4-5 days and alot of help from Musashi I finally got the right script and everything working OK.
I could always post what you need to change but you will not have regular xBows in Milan....only Genoese xBow Militia until I figure out how to add another unit.
So, how did they get the English colours?
You may not care about war, but war cares about you!
England already has a texture file set-up in the ln_brigandine_heavy/texture folder.
I originally tried to add these to Scotland but I could not "open" a texture file to edit in Scotland colors.
Although I offered to recolor one to scotland's colors for him hehe.
It would be a pages long guide to explain all this. It really is that complicated.
I put a thread in mod chat (linked from my "Byzantine Musketeers" thread here in the Citadel) that attempts to explain how to edit the battle_models.modeldb file, but it's kind of a nightmare honestly.
All the information you need is here, but it's scattered around a bit.
You need a hex editor, notepad, and Alpaca's text.bin converter to get a new unit completely into the game.

Though Genoese Crossbowmen as English units {raised on English soil} would be ahistorical , the English did use a lot of crossbows right up to the early-mid 1200s .Originally Posted by GotGame36

The game really needs High and Late period event triggers similar to the Marian reform event trigger .
7 out of 10 people like me ,
I'm not going to change for the other three .
