Angry AI so horrible I had sympathy for enemy (Milan)

I'm France in year 1090. The faction leader Duke of Milan attacked Dijon... ALONE! A city of over 150 units. So I wheel out a general and my 10 unit attack force that was preparing to attack Brujes to discourage the Milanese in the south. Moved them next to the enemy faction leader, still nothing- he won't retreat! So I attack him, and in battle he won't retreat against 3 peasant archers and one crossbow raining down death upon him. Still no retreat!

I was really feeling sorry for this guy. The AI forces this, and he (a 6 star general and fairly young) just stood there like a brave knight. So I called a halt to my shameful display when his forces were a little less in number than my general, and sent my own general to battle one-on-one with this brave soul. I lost a few, but since his HPs were so depleted I won.

I will build a small shrine (watchtower) to honor the Duke's sacrifice for roleplaying reasons. But damn, what's with the AI??? Milan is sending 3 units with no general against Marseilles and a general + 5 units. Has anyone fixed Milan's suicidally aggressive AI?

First, if you haven't installed the patch, do so. Then go here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=74125 and download the mod and install it and follow the directions. You will be happier with M2TW.

Passive AI and no naval invasion issues have been fixed. Instead, we see full stacks being carried by single ships. Post patch AI on the strategic map still needs some tweaking. It's far more entertaining though and they try to zerg you.

Would that it were full stacks.

I had the Danes attack me near Kent with a "stack" of 2 Town Militia and 2 Spear Militia. Then request a ceasefire after they were wiped out.

** NOTE ** : This is a mod which uses an aggression/diplomacy fix by Shaba Wangy.

You can get that fix without the mod here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=72471

'Lands' is a total change to the game system and can be slightly frustrating sometimes if you want to move quicker or just have some fun. I plan on taking up LtC again when I finish my current vanilla (modded w/ shaba and other fixes)

LtC uses Shaba's mod by permission, so, you can get one or the either; either way, the AI will be a brand new start that will blow your mind.
