You know, perhaps the radical feminists are right. All men should be castrated at birth, preferably without anasthesia. I mean, men are brutish pigs, and if it weren't for our semen, we would hold no value to society. Here in America, we lead the world in identifying the horror and the evil that lurks in the hearts of 4 and 5 year old boys. Yes folks, that's right. The same country that brought you the suspension & sexual harrassment charges against a 4 year old for hugging a teacher in November, now offers: 5-year old to be place on list of sexual offenders for pinching classmate's buttocks.

Anybody who claims the UK is in the grips of being a nanny state has no idea. The brits are pikers when it comes to us. I think we should start charging any breast-feeding baby boys with sexual assault. I mean, the mother doesn't ALWAYS want to feed right at the moment the little monster starts demanding to be fed. That could be construed as unwanted sexual contact, and we should slap a 'habitual sexual offender' tag on his ass.

All angry sarcasm aside... don't these morons realize that if they make every male a sexual offender, we all are, and therefore, none of us are? Unfortunately, sexual predators are a very real threat. But labelling 4 & 5 year olds as sexual offenders? All that does is serve to dilute the outrage factor. Based on these criteria, I think you'll be hard pressed in 20 years to find a male under age 25 that's NOT a sexual offender of one sort or another....

School accuses 5-year-old of sex harassment

HAGERSTOWN - A kindergarten student was accused earlier this month of sexually harassing a classmate at Lincolnshire Elementary School, an accusation that will remain on his record until he moves to middle school.

Washington County Public Schools spokeswoman Carol Mowen said the definition of sexual harassment used by the school system is, "unwelcome sexual advances, request for sexual favors and/or other inappropriate verbal, written or physical conduct of a sexual nature directed toward others."

Mowen said that definition comes from the Maryland State Department of Education.

According to a school document provided by the boy's father, the 5-year-old pinched a girl's buttocks on Dec. 8 in a hallway at the school south of Hagerstown.

Charles Vallance, the boy's father, said he was unable to explain to his son what he had done.

"He knows nothing about sex," Vallance said. "There's no way to explain what he's been written up for. He knows it as playing around. He doesn't know it as anything sexual at all."

The incident was described as "sexual harassment" on the school form.

School officials consider a student's age and the specific action when determining what administrative action to take, Mowen said.

Lincolnshire Principal Darlene Teach and Mowen said they were unable to discuss he incident involving the Lincolnshire student.

Teach said any student, regardless of grade level, can be cited for sexual harassment.

"Anytime a student touches another student inappropriately, it could be sexual harassment," Teach said.

School administrators at a Texas school in November suspended a 4-year-old student for inappropriately touching a teacher's aide after the prekindergarten student hugged the woman.

"It's important to understand a child may not realize that what he or she is doing may be considered sexual harassment, but if it fits under the definition, then it is, under the state's guidelines," Mowen said. "If someone has been told this person does not want this type of touching, it doesn't matter if it's at work or at school, that's sexual harassment."

The incident will be included in the boy's file while he remains at Lincolnshire, but Mowen said those files do not follow students when they move on to middle school.

She described the incident as a "learning opportunity."

During the 2005-06 school year, 28 kindergarten students in Maryland were suspended for sex offenses, including sexual assault, sexual harassment and sexual activity, according to state data. Fifteen of those suspensions were for sexual harassment.

In an offhand way, this reminds me of the recent case of a 17-year-old who will now be a registered sex offender for the rest of his life (in addition to spending 10 years in prison) for receiving oral stimulation from a 15-year-old girl. I wouldn't argue that what the boy did was correct in any sense, but a decade in prison and a lifetime of shame? That seems like an outrageous abuse of justice. Second degree murderers get off easier.

Hey, I want to take down sexual offenders as much as most people do, but I think targeting people under that certain age...of like 13 or 14 for pretty much anything aside from a slap on the wrist or a good talking too, is pretty sick.

Did you know that in Japan they have separate trains for women to take because of all the unwanted groping that goes on?

Of course, calling a 5 year old a sexual offender is ridiculous. But the fact that schools can't administer corporal punishment is equally so. I think a spanking would be a far more appropriate response to this kid's action. Besides, I hardly think that the kid even realizes that he's being punished. Oh noes! Not my permanent record!!! Spanking works because pain is univerally understood as bad.

The kneepads and helmets and coddling and general lack of actual parenting that goes on today explains exactly why we have so many adult morons with thier hands out expecting everything on a silver platter. It also explains why kids show up to school with guns and start killing everyone.

All these school system definitions seem to be misinterpreted when dealing with children, and these teachers of the year dishing out the accusations are just another reason I can’t stand our public school system. Seriously, if they can’t distinguish the difference between a child’s innocent actions and sexual harassment how can I expect them to teach my kids… anything besides math, but not geometry, you get a few suggestive shapes next to the wrong teacher and that’s it! Every school with a principal or board of directors worth a darn should be viewing cases like these and acknowledging the outrage with a swift revision to their sexual harassment definitions.

I have a confession to make. I am a pedophile and sex offender. At the age of 17 years and one month I had sexual contact with my girlfriend of age 16 years and 8 months. --First of all if they're going to put him on a list of sex offenders how can this be transitory, if you commited a sexual offense you commited a sexual offense, period.
---Second that definition of sexual harassment above is way too vague, wich makes it too ample. Many of those activities are common between boys and girls, more in the school, I wonder if this people had a childhood or adolescence at all.
----Third I believe that this line of thinking comes more from the idea of "once a rapist, always a rapist" than from a feminist point of view. I mean if you're a rapist your whole life then better err on the side of safety and label you from the first possible manifestation of criminal sexual behavior.

Theres need to be some minimum requirements put on their sexual harasment legislations ie: the offender needs to be capable of having an erection. But no doubt the sexually explicit language legislation would mean it would have to be worded differently.
