That's right! Vuk is finally getting M2TW!!! I ordered it through Amazon and it should arrive tomorrow or Saturday!
Before I play though *Imitates Dirty Harry* "I just gotta know*, should I play it w or w/out the patch? I heard it makes a lot of good changes, but does it change the gameplay significantly? Will I get a better/different experience playing w/out the patch? I ask because I like playing RTW 1.2/1.3 rather than 1.5/1.6 because I don't like the gameplay changes - is it the same in M2TW?

Postpatch is a bigger challenge and fixes some issues in the first one. In the 1.1 you have to deal with naval invasions on an even bigger scale than in RTW.

Plus, the unpacker comes with 1.1 so if you feel like modding some stuff, like me, it's better to go with that.

Its got alot of the little problems RTW had when it first came out too. I'd say go ahead and play it with the patch.

When I get home I'm going to try and mod the turn/year progression. As it is now 1 turn = 2years. I'm going to change it to 1 turn= 6months. A bit more realistic IMO.

Yes, that mod helps so much. It makes some interesting scenes with 1.1 though. Portugal landed up next to Caen and walked back down to Zarzoga. Nice move lowering your reputation.

I played 1.2 over the patches for a long time, mostly cause all the propoganda on fansites make the devs look like blood thirsty killers out for your guts and your daughters/wives/sisters, and also each dev is the decendant of a Gaulish naked fanatic...

RTR 5.4 was the best ever!

Okay, I installed the 1.1 patch finally and just changed 1 turn = 1 year and so far I like it. After reading about how changing the time line to .5 could mess up some game balance I decided 1.00 would be a better start. I want to play all the factions and get to know the real game better before I go playing the various mods.

The one mod that has me really interested in is the Realism mod thats being currently worked on. If they do as good as job as the RTR mods then it'll be the best IMO. Meanwhile I'll explore the game as it is.
