Can someone enlighten me as to what features will be in the patch and what features will be in the expansion and whether what they will apply to or rather, what they will be limited to????

for example... emissary bribing taishos... in original campaign as well as mongol hordes???

    thanks for the clarification all

Rule of thumb: everything that's actually *new* will be in the expansion. Things that clearly improve some old feature that should have been better than it was in the original game will be in the patch (and this means things *everyone*, including the devs, can agree on, like the Horde issue and bug fixes). Apart from that, we don't know, as usual.

However, we do know that the map editor will be released before the expansion is, so it will presumable be free and thus comparable to the patch (although separate?).

I can't imagine the Japanese bribing Mongol generals and getting Mongol armies (OK, it's not completely impossible, but rather far-fetched), and the Mongols themselves don't even have Emissaries. So this will be one feature that will definitely make an appearance in the Warlord Edition of the original campaign.
