    Default castle/citadel gates

    is it possible to open and then close the gate? Charging out with cavalry and then getting them back and closing the gate?

    Don't worry about it. Sometime it doesn't look closed but is actually close gameplay-wise as the AI won't try to go through.

    If your gates wont close after all your men are back inside it could be because you have another unit too close to it?

    If this fails to help, then perhaps its a bug???

    Not too sure, but worth a shot on a saved game, eh?

    It's true. Try moving all units on the ground away from the gate.

    Then again, I've had wonky unit cohesion end up shutting 1/2 my unit outside the gate and 1/2 my unit inside the gate before (this is on a 2 man units of Turcomens). The AI seems to ignore my shut out dude who managed to snipe 1 mongol heavy lancer from an insane distance.
