Post A Trait Suggestion for a Future Release

    Hello all,
Sorry to be such a suggesting and annoying, foolish idiot, but I was just thinking about the EB base traits system. I can't help noticing that a general is either, putting it very bluntly, thick or highly intelligent, good with people or awful with them etc. So I was going to suggest that you have something in between. For example a general could have "average intelligence", "average charisma" etc. I know that it probably would take lots of work, but it would take away the gap between either having a "good" trait or a "bad" trait general by providing something in between.
I hope this can be implemented, and Merry Christmas ,
    Avlvs

Actually, there are six levels of intelligence, six levels of charisma, six levels of loyalty, and so on. The trait list only shows the broad trends.

What Ludens said. Not only we have 6 levels for each attribute, the triggers make extensive use of them. We just chose to not let you know their precise values.

But it might add more immersion if the intelligence and other traits of the character were revealed. Maybe saying sharp/intelligent/genius, making it more apparent if you have an alexandros reborn or just a guy who knows good tax rates, and being able to make use of his god born gift rather than flinging him to some useless settlement. It would also make us less reluctant to accept "dull" people into the family if we actually knew how dull they were.

The point is you shouldn't know those things right off the bat. It takes time to figure out just how smart or dull some fellow is.

Like it better as it is. After meeting someone you can tell if they are smart or not, but can tell you if they are a "run of the mill" smart guy or an Einstein? Sometimes maybe, but not all the times.
I shouldn't have to live in a world where all the good points are horrible ones.

Is he hurt? Everybody asks that. Nobody ever says, 'What a mess! I hope the doctor is not emotionally harmed by having to deal with it.'

Ahh, I understand why. If I wanted to find out what level of base trait my general has then what do I have to do to see without losing save game compatibility?

Your best bet would be commenting out the Hidden lines for the Natural(Intelligence/Charisma/Energy), Selflessness, Temperament and Loyalty traits.

But lets face it, the trait system tells us a lot about the characters personalities that people wouldn't know if we met them.

Not really. At first, we don't know much about them, beyond a few vague generalities. This is how it tends to work in real life. As time marches on we figure out more and more about them, and the game works this way too.

Well I'd prefer it and think it'd be a tad more realistic if we were given a smidgen of more information...just something along the lines of how dull/lazy/selfish the guy is. I mean, you'd be able to tell if the guy was just of average intelligence or borderline retarded, but as of right now both things are filed under 'dull'.

I'm not saying flat out tell us their capabilities but perhaps just giving us a broad idea whether they're say just not the sharpest tool in the shed or completely idiotic.

Personally I'm pretty happy with how much information we get upon adoption - seeing their ethnicity and the other data about them that is shown is usually enough to compel me to think about it a bit before I decide. It's good for me as is.

I can generally tell what I'm going to assign my characters to do by evaluating all of their stats, not just intelligence and Charisma. If a Character is Sharp/Charismatic/Vigorous but is deathly afraid of blood I'm not going to put him in charge of an Army. But if a Retarded/Dull/Lazy Character that has the trait Axebitten, I'm going to put him in an Army, most likely not lead one, except for chasing Rebels, but He'll serve on the battlefield...

Perhaps you could give the general another trait saying how secretive he is and how much he hides his personality from the world. If he is not secretive then you will be able to (slowly) see his levels of "Sharpness" or "Dullness" as times goes on. However if he is there would be a lesser chance of this happening.

Upon adoption, you only know how selfish/optimistic/loyal someone is after you adopted them. Well if this is because their personalities have been revealed, then it should also reveal how intelligent/charismatic/vigorous someone is. In real life it would be easier to tell if someone was a genius than if they were extremely loyal, same goes with charismatic and vigorous.
