    Default Url Avatars

I'm curious as to why enabling url avatars causes a badly pixelated version of the normal avatars to display for people who haven't manually selected one.

It'd seem to make more sense to me to set the default to a 1px transparency, but i'm sure there's a reason here that i don't understand...

That was done sapi, but then people complained it was empty.

Another thing that was done, was giving a high res default avatar, but that wasn't considered a solution either.

Using high res copies of the normal avatars is not possible.

A middle road. A little pool of default avatars is used.
