Problems with the new patch

I can't seem to figure out how to patch Medieval II Total War, any advice or just something to explain it to me, thanks.

This is what worked for me (DVD):

1. Create a temporary folder on your desktop.

2. Unzip the patch into the temporary folder.

3. Look for Setup.exe in the temporary folder and doubleclick it. It should prompt you to update M2TW.
