Default Wannabe Modder asks a Basic Question

First of all hi to everyone, first post in these forums

Basically - I've used the unpacker to unpack MTW2. Problem is it's now eating about almost 15gigs on my computer - which means I'm running pretty damn low on space.

Here's the question, since it's running off the unpacked data (though I could be very wrong here) - can I delete say the old data folder?

And before it's mentioned - comp is as clean of other junk as it's going to get

Well im pretty sure you should be able to get rid of the pack files. Id suggest renaming them or moving them first to make sure the game runs fine without them before actually deleting them.

If the unpacker actually does unpack everything, deleting the .paks should be okay. Move them somewhere else and try running the game. If it works, you can delete the .paks and save yourself some space. If it doesn't work, you may have to use the files-first override (described in the unpacker readme, I think) just in case the program is still set on reading from the .paks, or move them back if that doesn't work either.
