how do i get rid of the green arrows under the units feet?

removing the little green arrows under the feet of my selected units

i could do this in rtw, was in preferences, now when i open my preferences file its empty except my name and email adress, what gives?

any help with that would be appreciated

its medieval2.prefences in the main directory

yes there is nothing in that folder but my name and email adress, for what reason i dont know

No. That is your Multiplayer config file.

In the general total war folder, ie:
C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War

In there is a file called medieval2.preference.cfg Right-click on it and select Open With, and use Notepad.

edit this line, in the [GAME] section to get rid of the green arrows:
disable_arrow_markers = 0 [change the 0 to a 1]

And if you want to get rid of the banners, edit this line, in the [VIDEO] section:
show_banners = 1 [change the 1 to a 0]

Im personally trying to mod to retain the banners, but prevent the bobbing when selected, which i find highly irritating visually. But XML is NOT my friend :(
