i have RTW gold and cant install this mod. i install it to my rtw root folder but when i click the EB shortcut on the desktop it says it cant find the exe.

change the target in the shortcut to your rtw exe, and no it wasn't designed for bi

BI works just fine with EB. When you install BI, it asks you if you want a shortcut on the desktop. Say yes. Right-click on the BI shortcut (not the RTW one or the EB one) and make the target...

    "C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\RomeTW-BI.exe" -show_err -mod:

if you installed to the default directory.

Also, make sure you install the BI 1.6 patch

ive got rome gold so i assume its already patched up? i followed your instructions and it loads rome when i click it

    ok heres what im doin

install rtw gold, install EB to default.
when i click EB shortcut it says cant find rome exe. why i dont know cos thats where shortcut is directed. this is gotta be the most unuser frendly mod ive ever used!

if someone could give me a step by step guide to get this mod to work usin the BI exe. that would be great

AFAIR EB installer doesn't detect RTW installation path, you need to point it to the actual installation dir (for gold default is something like c:\Program Files\The Creative Assmbly\Rome - Total War)

this is gotta be the most unuser frendly mod ive ever used!
Are you aware of any mod which detects RTW installation directory?
Actually it isn't so difficult but for some reason no one tested by me does not do that so this complaint looks somewhat groundless.
PS BTW it would be great if EB was provided as an archive without that installer. Some people know how to copy files and create shortcuts ;)

My RTW Gold Came on 4 disks. I think the euro version is on one DVD.

    Install RTW

Install BI--choose yes when it asks if you want a shortcut

Install BI patch 1.6 (its at 1.4 straight off the disk but i've heard others say theirs are already at 1.5/1.6)

    Install EB--point it to C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War

Right-click on BI shortcut and change the target to...

    "C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\RomeTW-BI.exe" -mod:eb -nm -show_err

just copy/paste it. Its different from the one i posted before which is for my RTRPE install.

    That should work...

Yes, if you change the target of the BI.exe to...

    "C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\RomeTW-BI.exe" -mod:eb -nm -show_err

    ...it will work fine
