and is it just me or is Arnold a bit of an odd middle name for a women?
The US has a track record of names that ignore the usual gender assignment. After all, John Wayne was christened Marion Morrison.

Lillington | A woman charged with castrating a man at a Christmas Eve party intends to plead not guilty to that charge and others, her attorney said.
Rebecca Arnold Dawson, 34, of Lillington, is innocent of the charges of attacking Kevin Russ, 38, and castrating him with her hands, attorney Jason Wunsch said Thursday.
Dawson is charged with malicious castration, which North Carolina law describes as cutting off, maiming or disfiguring a person's genitals with the intent to hurt or render the victim impotent.
She also is charged with assault causing serious bodily injury, malicious conduct by a prisoner and injury to personal property. She will plead not guilty to those charges as well, Wunsch said.
"This case has received a substantial amount of attention from the media," Wunsch said. "Ms. Dawson, therefore, requests that the media and public not judge her until all the facts of this case have been put forth."
Russ was treated and released from Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital. Dawson was released from the Harnett County Jail after posting a $50,000 bond.
Dawson is scheduled to appear in court for a probable cause hearing Jan. 17.
I'm just dying to know how exactly one goes about pleading not guilty after ripping a man's bits off. I don't think the jury is going to bite.

Hmm, this also raises the question, can one engage in non-malicious castration in North Carolina? Just asking ...
I'm glad for him that the damage isn't permanent. (or at least, that's what I can make of the article). He must be blessed, I can't dismiss this as chance.
I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you.

Sure it can:
North Carolina law describes malicious castration as cutting off, maiming or disfiguring a person's genitals with the intent to hurt or render the victim impotent.
It could happen during an accident. Out-of-control Chainsaw anyone?
Or
It could happen accidentally. Maybe a SM game gone awry?
But I'm very curious how she will trie toprove her innocence in these:
She also is charged with assault causing serious bodily injury, malicious conduct by a prisoner and injury to personal property.
