Refresher of .DDS editing

Hey guys, it's been a long long time since I last edited .DDS files and by now all the tools I used back then are gone from my hard drive and my human memory.

So, could a kind soul please give me a list of all the tools I need to edit .dds files once I've used alpaca's texture converter.

Photoshop and nVidia´s dds plugin should do the job. Alternatively you could use some other converter to make the .dds readably by whatever graphic editing program you use. DDS Converter or DTXBMP are two such tools that come to my mind.
