Thread: Ethnicities

    Default Ethnicities

Just some quick questionz on ethnicities (They're the thing that really sold me on EB): 1) Do the Romani have ethnicities, because they look like class divisions instead. 2) Do all factions have ethnicities? 3) Are there any ethnicities pertaining to the ancient Hebrews/Jews, because as the Eastern factions I always get characters with Biblical names.
    Thanks!

Romani ethnicities are a big issue for us going into the future, and there's lots of good ideas. we are hammering out a system that may work very well right now in regards to the issue, but I don't want to say more than that at the moment without the ok from the FC.

    Hi!!!

I also wanted to ask something about ethnicities:

I`m playing as Arvernii... and since I always use captains for crushing rebels, I get pretty regularly "Man of the Hour" events.

So, the thing is, the ethnicities of those captains (and also of the people offered in adoption and the twerps that are sniffing around my girls) are most of the time Boii, some few times Allobroge, and seldom Biturige.

When I say most of the time, I say about 9 out of 10, and I`m not exaggerating. When I played Aeduii, I also got Insubre like 8/10 of the time. The thing is, I`ve conquered all of gaul, and I`m pretending to expand into the british isles. It would be great to have a Briton general (as when I played Aeduii) in order to place him in charge of things there...

But all I get are Boii... not that I`m complaining (Boii are great generals against the romanii) but I would like a more pan-celtic "Oberkommando".

Is something hidden there? Is there something I should do in order to get an Aquitanian, Nervii, Carnute, Sequani, Helvetii, Rhaetii, Patavii, etc. for adoption / man of the hour?

    Cheers!!!

There's nothing hidden. It's just a combination of luck and you holding most of Gaul. The odds of getting a Boii are high because you probably hold all of their territories (Bononia, Eburorum, Veldideno, Vindobona and Iuvavoaeta).

    Ah!!!!

So if you don`t hold Helvetia, you have lesser chances that you get a Helvetii Governor??? Or you don`t have chances at all????

That feature of the ethnicities work in the same way with the Koinon Hellenon? Say, if you don`t hold any pontic city, you don`t get pontic greek generals?

    Cheers!!!

    PS: Happy new year!

Usually that's how it goes. Specific regional ethnicities have I_SettlementOwner conditionals in them, which means you have to own those provinces to have a chance of getting generals from that ethnicity.
