    Default Problems with TW games

I used to be able to play vanilla RTW on my computer, but it ran pretty slowly, so I upgraded my graphics card from a crappy in-built one to a GeForce 7600. Since then, RTW has run smoothly on the highest settings. I've also installed M2TW and played it on high settings. However, in both these games, my computer often freezes, and makes a loud drilling noise, particularly when I hit the end turn button. This problem has only occured in these new games since I got my new graphics card. I also remember the guy in the shop telling me I had an outdated power source, could that have anything to do with the problem. I'm considering taking my computer to a repair shop, so any advice would be appreciated.

EDIT: I also had a slight problem when installing M2TW, a message came up about one of the files, I think it was something to do with custom or quick battle 2v2. I could either select retry, cancel or ignore. After I tried retry with no joy, I just clicked ignore. This could perhaps explain why M2TW crashes, but not why RTW crashes, in exactly the same way, so I suspect this is not the problem.

IF you've got an outdated psu it really is worth your while to upgrade, since if it blows you'll lose everything.

Could that be causing me the problems?

Well, could you perhaps list your current specs ?

And, considering the hypothetical problem, especially list the currently used power supply.

I'm saying because my dell standard 250 W PSU device is having no problem at all running my A7600 GT...

    Graphics Card: GeForce 7600 GT
    RAM: 512 MB
    Memory: 160GB

I'm not sure about the power source, how would I find out? I remember something about my source and the number three, when the standard nowadays was five. I may be talking rubbish and having just read that sentence I realise its quite funny because its so vague.

Well, a dell uses a standard (DELL) 250 W power source (the Dimension 4600 does, at least) so if you have one of those, that's your PSU. Also, you might be able to slide the lid of your computer and look inside yourself, and find out by simply checking what it says on the PSU device. As for that number, three, I have no idea what that may be. Let's hope it's one of those numbers which mean 300 (W)...

Let us know what you're going to do, if anything at all.

That's still less than i'd use, but if it runs for other people than it may not be your problem...

Are you referring to my 250 Watts ? Then we're in agreement, it is a bit on the low side, but I haven't encountered any problems with it yet.

Anyway, these days a high end card really needs something more than a mere 250, preferably more than 350 even, for it to be used to its full potential.

But well, 250 seems to work perfectly for my setup, so I'm content.
