Probably irrellevant, but "The 'Lions' of Islam" is very familiar to the "Lions of Allah" from the Sharpe books; i think it is Tiger, or possibly Fortress.
Just thought id point it out.
Actually it is Fortress, yeh.

Looking nice. Just some constructive critique: I really don't think there's any need for the quotation marks around the "Lions" and the "Turks" in the title. Titles are supposed to be snappy and interesting, and the quotation marks break that up I think. Best to leave it as The Lions of Islam: Empire of the Turks![]()

Very exciting!
I second Wizzie's comment about the title. Unless used to show that you are making a direct quote, inverted commas usually suggest that you are casting doubt on the use of the word they enclose.
So I read your title and find myself wondering "are they really Lions? Or is Ironmonkey implying that they aren't proper Turks?"
I like it.
But just a question: don't we have a forum specially for AARs?
P.S. The Ghaznavids were another Turkic dynasty, predating the Selçuks, although their capital, Ghasni, was indeed located in Afghanistan.
