Hm maybe your firewall doing a popup asking about M2TW? Either wait a few minutes as that could unfreeze PC again or check firewall settings for M2TW before starting up game.

Hi thanks, no it's not that. I've checked all firewall and connection settings- as for leaving it for a bit, I started off generously leaving it while I walked the few miles to the shop and back (for a steak) and no luck,dammit!
