    Default Expansion

I am Just wondering what would people like to see in the Official Expansion Pack when it is releases? I myself and Hoping for a Expansion where the game starts off at about 1600 and North and South America or more or les all of it is on the Map unlike the tiny amount of land in Medieval 2. And Of course more natives Like the AztecsI know they are in medieval 2 but there capital city is no where where it was in real life) and the Incas and the Native American Indians of the USA. Now that would be a really Fun Game. What are your thoughs on he Subject? I hope I have posted tis topic in the Right Place

    Hi!

The game just should continue, where vanilla MTW2 ends. Yeah and NA indians, aztecs, maya, incas would be cool also, but of ocurse with a much larger map.

I'm not sure what they can do really, maybe a Dark Ages era of Europe expansion instead of Viking Invasion's Britain.

How about "Arab/Muslim invasion"? It certainly fits CA's habit of having the word "invasion" in every expansion.

It doesn't go to sleep thinking, "I wasn't really a very good bear today". They are just 100 per cent bear, whereas human beings feel we're not 100 per cent human, that we're always letting ourselves down. We're constantly striving towards something, to some fulfilment"

Personally, I'd like two: one covering the period where the vanilla game leaves off (gunpowder heyday) and one covering the gap between the fall of the western Roman empire and the campaign start.

I'd like to see Medieval Total War 2: Wars of Faith (or, if you must, 'the protestant invasion' ;-) ).

This could cover the period from 1453 (fall of Constantinople) to 1648 (Munster peace agreement) so 30-years war, 80-years war etcetera.

Yep, it's very systematic. Since Mongol and Timurid invasions are already covered as well as the Reconquista, Protestant invasion seems to be the only one left. Now introducing Martin Luther! With Protestant Fanatics! Yay!

I would like something completely different: A Lord of the Rings version!
Imagine Middle Earth as the campaign map with orcs, dwarves, elves etc. as the factions... Just think about the battle of Minas Tirith from the movies.

I imagine a lot of history fanatics would disagree with this wish, though...

*cough*Battle for middle earth*cough* Also EA holds all the rights to make LOTR games. And I doubt that Sega could get those rights from EA.

It would be really good and cover the period between BI and M2TW. I'd like to see the Arabs, Bulgars, Vikings, The Carolingian Empire and the other Successor states formed from the WRE

Might as well toss in India, Africa and the East Indies as well, plus more space eastwards for the Russians to expand.

I don't mind what it is, though I certainly tend towards an expansion which involves a continent other than Europe to exploit! (America?)

Exactly. Gentelmen Picture a expansion pack with North and South America. Just Picture it. And Of course where it does not tke as long to get there as it does in med 2. Immagine Sailing over and Blowing the Hell out of the Natives. I know you get to do a bi of this is med 2 but hardly anything worth talking about. A Epic Exspansion that lets you Colonise the New Wolrd. Maybe Parts of Africa as well. Now You all have to admit that Would be Impressive. I certaintly think so

Arab Invasion gets my vote. A little sensitive though, so I'm thinking it's unlikely.

Yeah, I can't see "Muslim Invasion" or anything similar being very practical, although I'd play it myself. Too much cultural/political baggage.

I'd like to see a "Total War: Conquest of the Caribbean" beginning with Spain established in the 'Crib and starting to decline in power, with the other European seafaring factions horning in on the action. It could almost mirror the RTW/BI expansion in that respect, with Spain taking the part of the Holy Roman Empire.

It has two main drawbacks though: first, it would suffer somewhat from a lack of tactical 3D sea battles, since I doubt we'd get a whole new tactical battle engine just for an expansion. And second, if it tracks history then there would only be a few different factions to play.... the Spanish, Portuguese, British, French, and Dutch... just the major seafaring nations of Europe. It wouldn't be the large map, or large numbers of factions we had in RTW/BI. And by the time the other nations arrived after Spain, the natives were pretty well suppressed, or dead of disease. At least you'd have some colorful "rebels" in the historical pirates of the time. Pirate factions would have coastal cities under their influence that you'd have to capture. I think this expansion idea might sell just by trading on the current popular interest in the pirate theme, and still be a strategically interesting mini-game.

North American Invasion would be nice with more gunpowder units. I do like the Lutheran Invasion idea too. What we will probably get is an expanded version of MTW/VI but covering the Franks. Some Charles Martel action.

I doubt the expansion will deal with the conquest of the americas, since there's barely any gunpowder infantry in the game, and some factions don't even have any. Adding a whole new era of units to the game would be too big for an expansion.

Keeping that in mind, I have no idea where they could go. Most major events after the end of the current game would deal with gunpowder warfare. They could possibly do the Hundred Years' War, or some kind of islamic invasion from the east, but those seem quite limited. Not much else stands out.

The expansion should start where this game finish, around 1520. must include the conquest of America, soem new factions in America. the expansion should end about 1700 or near of French Revolution that was the most important political change in the world by that time.
I wolud like to see naval battle, and improvements on naval pirates, so you can create some pirate ships without your country flags and attack other factions without entering in a war because they don't know who belongs those ships.

    I think we can have

Swiss , indipependance + borgognone wars

Italian warfare , try to unificate italy ( as firenze , milan , venetia , two sicilies , Genoa , Papal states , Siena etc etc and avoid strangers invasions )

Crusades , a more detailed holy land map and mechanics of play for that theatre .
