Swiss , indipependance + borgognone wars

Italian warfare , try to unificate italy ( as firenze , milan , venetia , two sicilies , Genoa , Papal states , Siena etc etc and avoid strangers invasions )

Crusades , a more detailed holy land map and mechanics of play for that theatre .

I would prefer the "Protestant Invasion" for an expansion pack. Or, as the person above mentioned, some kind of foray into asia.

Well, deep down, I'd like a remake of the original Shogun Total war with this new engine...

"The Intellectual Invasion" -- things like enlightenment, rennaissance, etc.
New units like Flying Da Vinci Legionaires, Medici Macemen, and French Head-choppers would add some color to the stale rosters of the years before, while the sultry words of wisdom from the likes of Voltaire and Deepak Chopra would inspire commoners to form violent pogroms as well as artistic marvels that could advance the cause of their overlord.

Note that "The Intellectual Invasion" could just as well be re-tooled to "The Invasion of Heaven", since science was deemed an affront on all things holy at the time.

They could one-up the ideas of past...

Create one game. "World: Total War". All previous games are melded into one. The game map is that of the entire world. The factions of Japan would be available, as would those of Rome, the medieval kingdoms, those in the Americas, etc.

To "even things out", all playable start at the same time, with some non-human-playables perhaps scripted to appear at certain times. Youz could then lead the Scipii into battle in the 1600s, fielding an army made up of Roman Pavise Musketeers, backed by culverins and bovine chukkas, supported by Imperial Knights of the Vestal Order, and backed up by thousands of Catholic Zealot Infantry and lead them on a Papal-backed crusade to Dewa province in northern Japan, where they would battle Samurai Dancing Pikemen, Sumo Heavy Infantry and Buddhist Warrior Arquebusiers.

The mere thought of that brings a tear to Vanya's eyes--wherever they might be.

I haven't played a whole lot of this game yet, haven't gotten to the New World.

But I'd like to see perhaps more of the Protestant Reformation and it's effects. Loss of Papal power in some places, a few more units and diplomatic options like actually being able to threaten other factions about their presence on your land? (dosen't the player get into trouble if they send troops into neutral lands?

An Invasion of the Americas doesnt interest me personally so I wouldnt buy it. I think CA is running out of timelines as far as pregunnery goes although 450AD to 1000AD hasnt been properly done yet.
