Forgive me for bumping, but if you have read Beefeater's vignettes for M2TW, also be sure to take a look at his Dominions 3 vignette. Beefeater has posted an elaborate post explaining Dominions 3, so you'll fit right in.

Heck, once I read the vignette, I even bought the game the very same day! Just waiting for the package to be delivered.
