Thread: Heirs to Foreign Thrones

    Default Heirs to Foreign Thrones

I've heard (but not played it) - that in the original Medieval: Total War, if you married off a princess into a foreign bloodline (or some iteration of such) - and they ran out of heirs, your faction might end up gaining their provinces if they ran out of family members.

Now, as hard as that is to do in TW:2 - I've never seen a faction run out of family members, and I tend to have large bloated cities filled full of wasteful nobility - is it possible at all for that to happen in TW:2? I don't think so, or it would have been displayed as a prominent feature I think, but I'd just like to make sure. I'm always trying; because I think that'd be a cool 'alternate' way to gain territory; through marriage alliances. Which they /did/ do IRL.
