Default Autocalc Battles & Sieges odds

How does M2TW calculate the odds when u use autocalc in battles, and in sieges. Helping to determine the most powerful army to use in autocalc battles, and sieges. I have rarely used autocalc in the past, except on pesky brigands. In those battles the brigands really did not have a chance, so I did not care

Autocalc usually suck... i know that in RTW some units were way to good in Autocalc and others like ele were barely taken in account... also they didnt took towers of walls that shoot arrows in account because they some times took a city with 0 casualties which is virually impossible when you do it yourself... it sucks at big battles but it rules at small ones...

Don't use it if the odds - read: Balance of Power meter - is anywhere near to being even. For my part, if the balance indication is anywhere within space of the two crossed swords, I won't use autocalc. If it's very high in my favor I might use it, if I feel I can afford the troop loss - as my side will likely win but will lose more troops than if I run the fight. if it's very low in my favor I'm likely to use it just to be done with the fight, depending on the value of the Unit(s) on my side.

Hi! I use autcalc against rebel cities. When you are strong you will lose MUCH less troops when you autcalc it. For example I've played a battle with Russia against a rebel city, they had two archers and two viking raiders, I had some spearmen 5 archers and kosscks, Playing the siege cost me almost 300 men, autocalcing only 120. Thats a huge difference, especially early in the game.

Note: do not use missile troops while autocalcing, they lose disproportionate amounts of men doing so. Autocalc during siege assault when the power graph is 5:3 in your favor or better. This will just about always result in a victory and fewer losses than if you fought it yourself.

Another thing I've noticed: Artillery seems to take a disproportionate number of casualties during autocalced battles -- even ones strongly in your favor. This is rough because of the movement points thing, Arty units are invariably the toughest to repalce on your front lines.
