Thread: Waterloo Interactive Battle Simulator - fun game

Another great time-waster. The good chatters tried it out for a bit and concluded that it's short, but fun. Endless replay value though.

Think you're a better general than Napoleon or Wellington? Here's your chance to find out!

Try to get an Early French Major Victory if you play as Napoleon or a Complete Allied Major Victory if you play as Wellington. The latter is easier to get than the former.

Yes I played it pretty fun. Never got a Early French victory though.

Hmm "Allied Minor Victory". It's cool but I'm not sure what you're supposed to base your decisions off of.

*tries again*

"French Major Victory" woo!

"complete allied total victory" woo"

You just have to memorize the right options.

I like it. The randomality means luck plays a part, too.

Draw - The battle of Waterloo has been a costly affair for both sides. The French army is not able to sustain itself in the kingdom of the Netherlands, but still retains some formations. Napoleon combines these troops with Grouchy's army. He hopes to rally other French troops located in the various garrisons and put up a defense of France. With Austrians on the border and the Russians fast approaching only a miracle or Napoleon can save the situation.

Damned I'm bad at this

You have to work for it!

Just go to the Waterloo link, backtrack through Napoleon to Empires, and then there should be Rome.

After MANY tries, I finally got an Early French Victory.

Solution below. WARNING: Prepare for carpal tunnel syndrome.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Attack Wellington's Right. If you get a draw or a minor defeat, replay. You are looking for a minor victory. This first move is the single hardest part of the game to achieve. You get a minor victory in maybe 1 in 50 tries.
Bombard the Allied Line. Hopefully you will receive a minor victory. If not, restart (yes, it sucks, but you wont win if you receive a draw).
Persue the Allies. Anything can happen, but once again we are looking for a victory. Restart if you receive a draw or defeat. This is the money shot. If you get a victory here, you win.

Well I seem to have got just about every possible result... including losing in a Complete Allied Major Victory... I just kept putting pressure on Wellington's right, but it just kept failing every time, as in I lost every assault.

You can also get a Early French victory by making a secondary attack on Hougoumont (and get a draw), then making the cav charge (to get a major victory if lucky and that's quite common), then have some luck and win a few minors victories before they rout.
