Ja Mata Tosainu Sama.
I believe the general consensus is that we don't want to overcomplicate the necessary downloads for the game, so don't worry about the landsnecht's. Historically, if I remember correctly, they were mercenaries anyway.
WOOT! Great news, and one question.
First, the question. If I've unpacked all the files using the unpacker, do I need to replace the old files with the new medifix files in order for medifix to run properly? Or do I simply leave the medifix files in the m2 directory rather than the m2/data directory?
Secondly, the great news. I got my desktop to work again! I have no clue what was wrong with it, but I took it to this little computer shop down the street and the guy just...plugged it in and changed one tiny thing in the bios that I could swear up and down I tried a million times, and the b#*(&@d worked.
So, now we get to see Dietrich's battle reports with desktop pics instead of laptop ones.
Example -
Laptop shots.

Needless to say, I am very pleased with myself right now.
That last picture alone looks like you could right a whole story about it, very fond of that one I am.

I'm inclined to leave it as it is. My vague understanding is that the Landsknechts actually were professional mercs, whereas the pike militia we recruit from our settlements is lower grade feudal foot and militia. Plus the Landsknecht's look rather formiddable by their stats and I am not sure our historical army rules provide that much of a check on creating overpowered armies. If they are mercs, they may be regarded as a bit more of a valuable commodity. I don't know how rare they are in the later game, but I have had no problem relying on mercenary spearmen as England, for example.Originally Posted by Kagemusha

Allright. Then we will play the game without trained pikes.Btw The English also have the unit armored sergeants in the game.Just becouse of some CA balancing they decided to leave those out of the campaign. But available on custom battles.
But these things are more related with M2TW in general. Not this great game we are having. So we will rely on merc pikes and militia on the late part of the game.
PS.If you guys chance your mind or want for example make the change on the Forlorn hope suggested in the original post.I can do the changes and embed the files on the same download as the medifix. Changing Landsknecht for trainable unit needs edit of two text files.Fix for Forlorn hope propably one.![]()

Ja Mata Tosainu Sama.
That would be good - we do want to mod that, otherwise the Forlorn Hope will be useless. I have not prioritised it as it will be a while before we can recruit them and CA may even have patched the game by that time (prays for a savegame compatible patch....)Originally Posted by Kagemusha

Fix them without making them overly powerful mind you, as the current 2h fix is alleged to be.
Here is the fix.I only changed the unit so it has now two hitpoints instead of one. Just extract the file in your Mod folder.![]()
