    Default Strange execution sound clips

So I was recently playing the campaign, and I noticed one time when I ordered an execution on units of a defeated army, the sounds of a splitting torso, intense screaming, and organs spattering on the ground played, followed by the sounds of horses hooves running on the ground. This sounds like dismemberment , where the victim was tied to a stationary object and a horse, while the horse ran in an opposite direction, dismembering him/her. Has anyone found more interesting execution sound clips or has anything to say for this?

There's one that sounds like an axe or guillotine chopping someone's head off, and a later one of a firing squad.

Its too early in the timescale of things to have a guilotine (wasnt used frequently until the french revolution in the 18th century), though a good old beheading is always acceptable.

As is a firing squad of muskets, though in early times itd be impractical due to the cost of rounds, where as in the napoleonic era, musket firing squads were the most frequent "military discharges"!

Have you heard the one with sounds of gunshot and screams and then somebody screams "Missed!" or something, then *gunshot* and "Aargh..."

Yeah, the best execution sound is the firing squad one, which seems to only happen when you have gunpowder units in your army. At least that's what I've noticed, it's a very rare sound.

Some of the other execution sounds are wierd. I could swear that one of them is a clip from the movie Alien when the alien bursts out of John Hurt's stomach.

"The guillotine became infamous (and acquired its name) in France at the time of the French Revolution. However, guillotine-like devices, such as the Halifax Gibbet and Scottish Maiden seen on the right, existed and were used for executions in several European countries long before the French Revolution. The first documented use of The Maiden was in 1307 in Ireland[1], and there are accounts of similar devices in Italy and Switzerland dating back to the 15th century. However, the French developed the machine further and became the first nation to use it as a standard execution method." So it could be something like guillotines. But man, you have good ears, I did never notice, that there was a difference between executions.

EDIT: Of course the quotation is fwom wikipedia
