Thanks for your brilliant write-ups and for this excellent game. It's a blast.

However, you wouldn't be getting nervous about it being over too soon with us killing off all your mobsters at an alarming rate, wouldn't you? Know that throwing in a new wise-guy and 'helping' him a bit isn't going to work though

Look, adding another mafia in the middle of the game you'd consider unfair, even when you're not amused that three mafiosi are already down. A townie role seems silly, you don't draw people into the game and then give them a townie role. Also, you decided on a wise-guy role so it would keep his options open for him, what with him joining in at the middle of the game.
He could choose his direction himself.

Unfortunately, he hasn't been wise enough of a wise guy to choose the winning side, the town. His own words in this thread have revealed him.

Pevergreen, your voting for Sasaki for no better reason than a simple "I find him suspicious" was what made me suspect you in the first place, being as it was a prime example of meatballing. However, since the more experienced players will know that Sasaki growls at anyone anyway, while less experienced ones sometimes interpret this as a sign of Mafia, I'll vote Sasaki and see what happens. Are you a genuine detective who came up with that result, or are you a fake looking for scapegoats and picked Sasaki? And remember, if the autopsy proves you wrong, you're facing the rope as well.

@pannonian: No pro town roles come up criminal.

@pevergreen: interesting choice in strategy. However: you and several other people know I've been working with townie groups, and with groups of wise guys who are pro town. Thus if I was wise guy and pro town I would have no problems saying so. So you conclude that I am wise guy working for a family.

Unfortunatly, if I was working for a family I would have killed someone by round three and my status would be "guilty" not "criminal.

I'm a townie, the 10% (?) chance that you got on a criminal result on a townie is a convenient out, but I find it unlikely.

Not really if the mafia are trying to kill each other off. After that happens then yes they would be a target.

If you are an important pro-town role, there are more than enough townies and pro-town wise guys to protect you, a weakness of the rules in this game. Even if a protection group fails, it will help the town by revealing that at least one of the members in that group is a Made or a Luca (the pro-Mafia roles who cannot join a protection group). The suicide of the members of that group will either eliminate the threat, or isolate the surviving members as likely mafiosi.

OOC, I think the rules are too pro-town over and above the difficulty in winning a game like this as Mafia. But then, I'm a townie, so I'll exploit the rules however I can to achieve a town victory.
