Hell over 20000 downloads from 5 december. I think finaly people have found what a awesome mod EB is.

Many of which would probably be from people mucking up downloads and retrying them. Still 20000 is a helluva lot

EB needs to be advertised so as many people as possible are aware of it. It is truly scary to think of all those people thinking vanilla is as good as it gets.

This is why all EB players out there need to stick links in their email sigs, on their websites and blogs and anywhere else where they can gain exposure for EB. When its complete, the EB distro people should upload torrents to all the big bittorrent search sites. That would probably attract a good few curious people. I would say they should do that now, but some people are a bit funny about 'beta' products, and it may have a negative effect.

EB can do virtually no advertising till a version that is no longer labelled "beta" or pre 1.0 is available. We shot ourselves in the foot long ago on this issue by adopting our numbering system (though granted it was a problem we didn't foresee) and mod members have been divided on how to proceed. The end result is that there has been, is, and will not be for the near future any real attempt to "advertise" or "market" EB on other sites, with magazines, etc. Very unfortunate from my point of view, but enough members think that it is a good plan to keep the current numbering system for now and the future that it doesn't appear to be headed for a change. I'm surprised that many tracked downloads have been counted also given all of this.

Only if your modem got disconnected while you were downloading, and your ISP use DHCP.

For most people though, it should only count how many computer (IP-addresses) have downloaded, so it will filter you by IP, not by how many times you downloaded it.

No I just cant get EB to work. Its more than download troubles the only thing I know is that theres a problem with the shortcut and it wont let me play...
